Basic Skills Necessary:

• All stitches marked with an * have photo illustrations included in the pattern.
• Tie # 1: Subtle Stripes = chain, slip stitch, half double crochet, *ribbed half double crochet, *ribbed decrease
• Tie # 2: Stars & Stripes = chain, slip stitch, working in back loop only, half double crochet, *beginning star stitch, *star stitch.
• Tie # 3: Tunisian Stripes = chain, *tunisian simple stitch, *standard reverse pass, *tunisian bar stitch, *tunisian simple stitch 2 together, *changing colors for the next forward pass

Gauge:

Subtle Stripes: Working in half double crochet ribbing stitch: 12 half double crochet x 7 rows = 2 inches square.
Stars & Stripes: Working in Star Stitch pattern stitch: 5 stitches x 5 rows = 2 inches square.
